as State Senator for the people of Senate District 2, which includes a large part of Savannah and Chatham County. The 2013 legislative session marked my fifth year in the Georgia Senate, following 10 years in the House of Representatives.

As a member of the Democratic National Committee, I remain committed to fighting for all Georgians on the issues that matter most, including education, health care, economic development, enhanced job opportunities and public safety.
